Connection programs are offered to students attending Florida community colleges.  A list of approved schools is listed.  Students must enroll in this program prior to attaining 30 credits at their current institution and must fill out a FastTrack or Connection form to participate in the program.  Please return the completed form to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Facts About the Connection Program for Undergraduate Students

Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ has long been a premier educational choice for transfer students. The Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection program is a dual-admission program designed to help high school graduates pursue an associate of arts degree from a community college followed by a bachelor’s degree at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøվ’s Melbourne campus.

Who is eligible to participate in the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection?

• Any currently enrolled community college student who applies to Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ before earning 30 credits at their community college

Which students might benefit from the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection?

• Students who need additional preparation prior to attending Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾
• The student who is admitted to Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ but whose financial circumstances prevent enrollment as a full-time first-year student
• The student who is currently enrolled at a community college who has earned fewer than 30 credits and plans to complete their full-time baccalaureate studies at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾

Must a student apply to a community college as well as Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ to be eligible?
Yes. Students interested in the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection must apply to enroll or be enrolled in an approved associate of arts degree seeking program at a community college.

Is the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection open to students for all major areas of study at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾?
Yes. In some majors, Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ has an articulation agreement with community colleges. In those areas where the course of study is not clearly articulated, academic advisers from Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ will assist the student in the proper selection of courses. However, it is recommended that students enroll in the associate of arts degree program to maximize the number of transfer credits given at FloridaTech.

How should students apply for financial aid?
Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ require students to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which should be filed as soon as possible after Jan. 1. Students eligible for the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection must request that the StudentAid Report from FAFSA be sent to Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ (Code 001469).

Does Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ offer any scholarships or grants to community college students?
Community college graduates are awarded a Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection Program Achievement Grant of $6,000, equivalent to what an in-state resident would pay for the cost of an associate degree program ($3,000 will be disbursed in each of the junior and senior years at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾). If academic merit warrants, a student will instead be awarded a Transfer or Phi Theta Kappa scholarship (he or she will be awarded the highest scholarship; they do not stack). Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection students are eligible for admissions incentives and need-based financial assistance. The Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Army ROTC program also offers full tuition scholarships to students with the desire to become commissioned U.S. Army officers.

How does a Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection student move from community college
to Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾?
Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection students must achieve a 2.5 cumulative GPA in their course of study at a community college to enroll at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ with the $6,000 Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection Program Achievement Grant. Students should request that their community college send their transcript to Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ and then call the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Office of Admission to indicate that they are prepared to enroll for the following term.

Are there other benefits for students in the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection Program?
The Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection student will have a Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ academic adviser in addition to their community college adviser during their course of study at the community college. They will be invited to a Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection orientation at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ at the beginning of their first term.

To Commit to participate in the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Connection Program you’ll need to complete and submit
